The item was good. Easy enough to install and it works well. It was to replace a Culligan filter and the advantage of the new head is that the large shroud that covers the whole of the top of the filter is replaced by a smaller attachment to the plastic head and so does not have the problem of the very tight fit that the old style head had on the cannister especially when slightly corroded. It is better to cut back the microbore plastic tubes from the mains water and to the filtered water tap because the old plastic tube ends get compressed in the old head and so leak a bit unless trimmed back to fresh tube. Scissors are fine. It is also better to add some PTFE tape to the plastic screw thread of the adaptors that attach the microbore tubes to the new head. There are no o rings to seal the adaptor so the leak pressure will be safer by using a bit of PTFE tape. The fixing bracket is exactly the same as the old style head. If doing on a regular basis it is a10 min job or less, but on a once-only amateur basis it is more like 30 mins depending on how long you think about what to do. Definitely worth buying and definitely easy enough for limited-skill amateur fitting. If you have done a bit of DIY plumbing before. All easy overall.— Andrew Prior ✓
